Life is the best classroom
For international students and new immigrants, we provide:
• A realistic and manageable environment for language practice
• Protection of personal rights and physical safety
• A starting point for cultural adaptation and social integration
To help users improve their spoken English in a relaxed, daily manner, we provide simple conversation topic cards.
Each card contains a topic, example sentence structures, and useful vocabulary — in both English and Chinese.
In the Language Exchange Events section, users can find announcements for real-time events like casual dinners, storytelling nights, or guessing games — all designed to reduce speaking anxiety and encourage real interaction.
This means our platform management team conducts either on-site inspections or live video assessments to ensure the host’s home is safe, clean, and up to standard — as shown in this section of the interface.
This is a bilingual digital contract signed by the student, the host, and the platform.
It clearly outlines:
• The schedule
• The expectations and responsibilities of both parties
• Conflict-handling steps
This agreement prevents misunderstandings, and ensures both sides feel secure.
Sometimes, misunderstandings or conflicts may occur — we’re ready to help.
StayTalk offers:
• A 24-hour response system for urgent issues
• Step-by-step guides on non-violent communication (NVC)
• A neutral mediation team trained in cross-cultural sensitivity
Each new student is matched with a "buddy" — an experienced user who has already completed a successful work exchange.
Buddies provide:
• Practical pre-trip advice (what to pack, how to introduce yourself)
• Emotional support (daily check-ins, shared stories)
• Cultural tips (e.g., table manners in NZ homes, how to politely refuse tasks)
